The Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum was once known as the “Gay ’90’s” museum. Located in Barnesville, Ohio, this museum underwent restoration to the tune of $100,000 in the summer of 2015 to address work needed on the porch and other exterior areas.
The mansion was built back in the late 1800’s at a cost near $65,000. Having twelve ornate columns (many of which had to be rebuilt by a historic restoration firm) and twenty-six rooms, the mansion has Edwardian ceiling fixtures and new gutters, downspouts, and a fresh coat of paint. A grant from the Belmont County Tourism Council helped fund the project.
